Technical Task Force

Only child verification service invited to participate at the Harvard Law School Berkman Center alongside MySpace and Facebook

ONTARIO Calif., Oct. 29, 2008 - eGuardian, the only online protection to block predators effectively and make search engines and social networking sites safer for children, presented its proprietary age-verification service at the Internet Safety Technical Task Force (ISTTF) on Sept. 24, 2008, at the Harvard Law School Berkman Center.

"It was an honor to be the only child verification service invited to present at the Internet Safety Technical Task Force," said Ron Zayas, chief executive officer, eGuardian. "Our state-of-the-art age-verification service integrates with key Web sites and works in conjunction with major search engines, social networking sites and instant messaging systems. It enables children to safely interact with their peers and experience the best of the Internet and its vast resources while being protected from adult content and online predators."

The ISTTF is a group of Internet businesses, non-profit organizations, academics and technology companies that have joined together to identify effective tools and technologies to create a safer environment on the Internet for youth.

The purpose of two-day session was to give members of the public an opportunity to learn about the work of the Task Force, to explore the different technology-related problems and solutions under consideration, and to raise questions and share ideas about the complex reality of youth online behavior.

The agenda included remarks by Attorneys General Martha Coakley (Mass.) and Richard Blumenthal (Conn.) along with 15 presentations on Internet safety tools utilizing a variety of technologies, including age verification, biometrics, filtering and auditing, text analysis and combinations thereof. Companies invited to present included Microsoft, Symantec, MySpace and Facebook.
