Every Kid Votes teaches children to learn and love the electoral process

ONTARIO, Calif., Sept. 29, 2008 The future success of the country is dependent on an active, knowledgeable voting public and Every Kid Votes is working to educate voters of the future by engaging them in the democratic process early on, in a safe and welcoming environment.
The kid-centric virtual voting program is the creation of Woogi World, a child-safe virtual online social world, and eGuardian, the only online protection to block predators effectively and make search engines and social networking sites safer for children. Partnering in the campaign is the academic classroom supplement, Studies Weekly, along with 55,000 teachers nationwide.
"The United States is 139th in the world in voter turnout," said Ron Zayas, chief executive officer, eGuardian. "We, as a country, need to re-instill in our children the importance of the right and responsibility to vote. Every Kid Votes is a great way to empower our children, giving them the opportunity to cast their vote and participate in the upcoming presidential election in a safe online atmosphere."
Every Kid Votes is a new feature of the Woogi World virtual social world. It creates both an educational as well as a social environment for children to take the opportunity to learn, communicate and engage in the election.
"When your core mission is to educate, motivate and inspire 6- to 12-year-old children online, it is important to ensure their safety," said Eric Clare, vice president, corporate partners for Woogi World. "eGuardian's eCertification process ensures that eGuardian certified kids in Woogi World are communicating only with age-appropriate children. Such certification allows us to be far more aggressive in the collaboration and communication adventures we can develop for our subscribers like Every Kid Votes."
Every Kid Votes is geared to elementary school-age children or younger, and requires only a free registration process with a parent or guardian's permission. Once registered, children have immediate access to the entire Woogi World site, protected by eGuardian's age verification certification that eliminates online predators.
Between now and one week before the 2008 Presidential election, children will be given the opportunity to share their comments, debate issues, communicate with politicians and other children and vote for their candidate of choice.
Children's knowledge of the democratic process can further be enhanced by support and involvement from family members and educators. In an effort to drive this program forward, families, teachers, parents and grandparents can also register their name at xxx to help ensure that every kid participates. Children's Way Foundation, parent company of Woogi World, is hopeful that at least 100,000 people will simply lend their name to the effort by Oct. 5, 2008.
"With our relationships in government, we know with the support of 100,000 families we can bring about the change in policy to ensure we continue to teach the importance of voting in America to the young," said Scott Dow, director, Children's Way Foundation.
The winning Every Kid Votes candidate will be announced after the online election ends Nov. 3, 2008.
